KPMG Finland has multiple clients around the world. The Nordic Development Fund is one of them that required a refresh to their decade-old EEP Africa website which was unfavourable to work with given the current web landscape. 

The Energy and Environment Partnership Trust Fund (EEP Africa) is a clean energy financing facility hosted and managed by the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) with funding from the Austrian Development Agency and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

The funding they provide aids start-ups and established companies in many African nations build infrastructure, developing new technologies, and provide employment and empowerment.

By providing early-stage grant and catalytic financing to innovative clean energy projects, technologies and business models in 15 countries across Southern and East Africa, it has invested close to EUR 50 million in 250 pioneering projects.

The nature of the site had to compliment the user and the administrators working on the content. User personas were developed across 5 profiles to determine the information architecture and the on-page content. As a funding organisation with a reputation built over a decade, there were strict brand guidelines to adhere to in promoting the correct message.

Digital Asset Management

Content that had developed over time has to be managed carefully and presented in new ways. People use content very differently now and the delivery and maintenance of this had to be made simple, elegant, and succinct. By creating custom methods of categorization for all content, a method of working was established internally to make sure time was best utilised for the content creators.
